Position : Food Service Supervisor

Employment : Permanent-Full Time

Location : Hardisty Care Centre, Edmonton AB

The Food Services Supervisor reports directly to the Hospitality Manager and oversees the planning, organization, and coordination of food delivery, storage, and service. The Supervisor treats residents with dignity, demonstrates genuine care, and upholds a strong commitment to resident safety, aligning with Park Place’s “culture of safety” and strategic directions.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure food is prepared according to recipes and standards

  • Monitor quality of food and service standards to ensure Resident’s acceptability of items served.

  • Oversee the assembly and delivery of regular and special diet meals to residents.

  • Ensures the safe performance of all kitchen and dietary-related duties.

  • Assists with recruitment and training of job duties, safety procedures and PPSL policies

  • Responsible for the supervision, scheduling, mentoring and discipline if required of all kitchen employees along with Hospitality Manager.

  • Establish work schedules and procedures to ensure applicable staffing levels.

  • Ensure compliance with PPSL sanitation requirements and all legislative requirements.

  • Follows legislative standards and Park Place policies and processes for food purchasing, delivery of meals, food preparation, safety and sanitation, and nutritional services.

  • Procure necessary supplies and manage inventory levels effectively.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.

  • Acts as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, trust and respect in all interpersonal relationships, and recognizes personal impact on team dynamics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Graduate of a Nutritional Management Program at an approved school, which meets qualifications for membership of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Must Have):

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.

  • Proficient in operating kitchen and related equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Collaborative team player who fosters respectful and positive working relationships.

  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Food Services Supervisor position requires lifting, walking, reaching, bending, pushing, standing, and sitting. Lifts a maximum of 30 lbs. Must be able to manage stressful work situations with dexterity.
