THE OPPORTUNITY:


The Restaurant Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operation of the assigned Moonlight Basin restaurant outlet, including the selection, development and performance manager of employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:


Directly or indirectly supervises employees and/or supervisors; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Moonlight Basin’s policies, procedures and applicable laws; responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Moonlight Basin professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Assist in overseeing and managing all areas of the restaurant outlet.
  • Assist in making the final decisions on matters of importance to Member experience and employee management.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure positive Member service in all areas; Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied Members into return Members.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist in disciplinary actions of restaurant staff.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews with the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, Members, guests and company assets.
  • Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
  • Keep a working knowledge of all menus.
  • Provide direction to shift leaders, and staff to achieve restaurant outlet goals.
  • Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff engage Members and guests to understand their needs and exceed expectations.
  • Monitor product and labor costs to remain within goals.
  • Assist in new menu implementation.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Moonlight Basin policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Maintain privacy of our Members at all time.
  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Perform work in a safe and high quality manner.
  • Project a favorable image of Moonlight Basin to Members and guests at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Assist in season-end employee performance reviews.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a Member, guest, or employee is injured.
  • Interview hourly employees. Direct hiring, supervision, development and, when necessary, termination of employees.
  • Assist in the management of inventory counts for end of month of outlet.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work; Three plus years of work-related skill, knowledge and experience; proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Bachelor degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management; Certification through Court of Master Sommeliers or similar certifying beverage program; TIPS certified.
  • Valid State Driver’s License; Valid ServSafe certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co-workers, vendors and other Moonlight Basin departments. Able to write clearly and legibly.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to solve basic problems and/or know when it is necessary to get a manager to assist in problem solving.
