Reporting directly to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor we are currently seeking Mechanical Assembly Technicians for our Dayshift to be based at our Price, UT facility.

Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician I

Position Summary: The Mechanical Assembly Technician I installs structural components, including installing

siding, roofing, and doors, mounting HVACs, and depending on facility, with guidance, may install cable tray, cut

and bend busbar, and mount electrical gear in skids, e houses, and other IE-provided equipment

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 3:30pm; Every other Friday Off

Essential Functions. Other Duties as Assigned.

Technical Duties

  • Construct and align basic structural frameworks and trusses following established templates under direct
  • guidance.
  • • Install insulation and standard metal paneling for modular buildings and skids.
  • • Assist in the installation of door assemblies and other standard hardware, ensuring basic functionality and fit.
  • • Install pre-cut roof panels and roofing material or panels according to required manufacturer instructions.
  • • Assemble and mount common support infrastructure, such as cable trays, turnbuckles, and other support
  • features according to prints.
  • • Cut and trim access holes and penetrations.
  • • Help position auxiliary equipment like HVAC units onto assembly mounts using basic rigging tools.
  • • Apply waterproofing and caulking to exterior joints and penetrations.
  • • With appropriate guidance and comfort, operate overhead cranes and forklifts for routine material movement
  • after receiving required certifications.
  • • Assist in mounting and securing standard electrical control equipment and fixed components, ensuring basic
  • mechanical alignment under supervision.
  • • Under guidance, measure and cut bus bar materials accurately, performing basic bends with assistance to meet
  • project requirements.
  • • Perform as needed any final unit detailing, cleaning, and basic touch-ups to prepare buildings for transport.
  • • Maintain a 5S-compliant workspace and meet daily production goals within an assigned team.

Tools and Equipment

  • Various hand tools – wrenches, screwdriver, utility knife, laser level, drill and impact, skill saw, etc.
  • Use overhead crane, forklift, scissor lifts, hoists, to assist in mechanical assembly and moving materials/projects
  • Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift
  • May operate sand blaster

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma plus zero to one-year experience working as a skilled laborer in heavy industrial manufacturing

operations or construction environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Must be able to read, and understand Travelers, production schedules and quality specifications. Must be able to write

NCR’s and comply with safety rules. Must be able to establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships

with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff.

Math Ability:

Ability to compute basic math to calculate for example - buss bar, siding measurements, etc. Must be able to accurately

follow schematics. Ability to understand operation costs and production overrun costs. Ability to apply concepts such as

fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to analyze and understand project plan documents and specifications and successfully resolve practical problems and

they may occur. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Must be able to use computer to log in time and job hours.

Certificates and Licenses:

Must possess valid OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certification or ability to obtain such.

Safety:

Must comply with and follow all IE safety programs, policies and procedures. Must operate and perform job duties in a safe

manner.

Must be able to operate/work safely around machinery/moving equipment.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform

The employee must frequently lift or move 20-50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision

abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Color Vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust

focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; stoop, kneel,

crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand and must be able to perform frequent heavy lifting

and continual bending and standing on a concrete floor.

Must be able to safely climb up and down ladders and work at heights between six to fifteen feet when required

Work Schedule:

Must be able to work a 40 hour work week, and overtime as necessary.
