Feed Mill Laborer at Central Prairie Co-op – Hutchinson, Kansas

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The feed mill laborer is responsible for performing activities pertaining to receiving feed production, processing inventory and sales, and providing maximum service to members and patrons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes the following and other duties may be assigned)

· Aids in maintaining clean facilities of mill and complying with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance.

· Assists customers in loading purchases, locking, and unlocking facilities.

· Load and unload feed; deliver bulk feed as needed.

· Responsible for all feed production, processing and mixing drugs.

· Responsible for mill maintenance and repair as qualified or works with a qualified technician.

· Aids in good quality feed/grain by conducting monthly facility inspections, monitoring bin temperature and moisture, keeping the elevator clean and performing preventative maintenance.

· Complete all required paperwork including PM reports, OSHA, and safety inspection forms.

· Provide assistance with stocking merchandise, advertising and inventory control.

· Assist customer with sales, checkout and promoting products; responsible for being knowledgeable on products and services.

· Work cooperatively with other locations to help ensure company goals are met.

· Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.

· Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.

· Attends safety and training meetings.

· Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

· Present a clean and professional appearance.

· Employees are required to perform all other duties as assigned.
