Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Rippling is looking for a customer-obsessed Technical Account Consultant, M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) to join our Technical Account Consulting team. In this role, you will serve as the technical consultant for customers navigating mergers, acquisitions, and multi-entity changes within Rippling. You will own engagements end-to-end by advising on technical strategy, managing project timelines, scoping and budgeting projects, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to implement solutions that drive successful M&A transitions for existing Rippling customers. This role requires a strong blend of technical consulting, project management, and customer guidance, with a priority focus on helping customers successfully operationalize systems change and achieve a smooth first payroll run.

What you will do
  • Advise on M&A Strategy: Serve as the technical consultant for M&A and multi-entity engagements, advising customers on how to merge and optimize their Rippling products
  • Conduct Discovery: Use discovery to understand customer goals, business needs, risks, and timelines, then determine the recommended solution strategy
  • Own Implementation Milestones: Independently own projects from kickoff through completion, guiding customers through systems and process design, data migration, configuration and integration builds, testing, go-live, hypercare support, and the decommissioning of legacy systems
  • Lead Projects Independently: Manage timeline, scope, budget, milestones, risk mitigation strategies and stakeholder communication
  • Ensure Go Live Success: Prioritize a successful first payroll run while supporting broader product adoption and long-term customer retention
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, Engineering, TAM, AM, Support, and Implementation teams on unique customer scenarios and cross-functional dependencies
  • Resolve Ambiguity: Navigate technical and operational ambiguity across complex M&A engagements by partnering with Product and cross-functional teams to work through unique scenarios, pressure-test solution options, evaluate downstream system and workflow impacts, and drive clear recommendations, ownership, and follow-through toward successful customer outcomes
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Identify and contribute to process improvements and best practice playbooks to enhance the efficiency and scalability of M&A transitions as Rippling’s customer base grows.
What you will need
  • 4–6+ years of experience in Professional Services, Implementation, Technical Consulting, or a similar customer-facing role
  • Experience supporting a complex, multi-product SaaS offering and helping customers navigate interconnected systems, workflows, and dependencies
  • Strong project management skills, including experience owning complex customer timelines, scope, and stakeholder coordination
  • Ability to independently solve moderate to complex problems and make structured, customer-centered recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and confidence leading customer conversations in high-stakes situations, handling escalations with limited management oversight
  • Ability to learn the full Rippling product suite and advise holistically across solutions that touch HR, IT, Payroll, and Benefits workflows
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with stakeholders, influencing product roadmap solutions without authority
  • Strong technical judgment, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess ambiguous situations, weigh tradeoffs, prioritize effectively with incomplete information, and make recommendations that account for downstream impacts
  • Preferred: experience with M&A, multi-entity implementations, payroll/HRIS changes, or complex business restructures
