| Job Summary | THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR This position provides support for the MLK Center Fulltime Staff • Collaborate regularly with MLK Center team members to support planning, coordination, and implementation of MLKC events and engagement efforts through weekly meetings. • Provide general support for office communications and information sharing. • Support outreach efforts by engaging students, organizations, and departments through bi-weekly tabling and distribution of office materials during the academic year. • Maintain a minimum of 7 active office hours per week to assist with general MLKC operations and front-facing support. • Actively participate as a member of the MLKC student staff team by attending regular staff meetings, retreats, and trainings, and by working a minimum of 5 MLKC events each semester. • Meet bi-weekly (at minimum) with MLK professional staff to support overall success and balance across academic, personal, and work responsibilities. • Students in this role may have opportunities to contribute to special projects aligned with their interests and skills, in support of the MLKC mission and initiatives • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the MLKC mission. The Student Office Assistant intern is expected to demonstrate high levels of confidentiality and a desire to learn new skills. The students in this position must be a self-starter and have an understanding of working in a professional environment, and have excellent customer service skills. This position requires a positive attitude and a willingness to assume a variety of roles. The Student Office Assistant intern is expected to report to work on time, dressed appropriately and show respect for colleagues in the workplace. |
