This is a contract-based UX Research role focused on improving the experience of one of the world’s largest knowledge platforms used by millions of people globally. You will lead and support research efforts that combine both quantitative and qualitative methods to uncover user behaviors, motivations, and needs. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, with a strong focus on surveys, large-scale studies, and statistical analysis. You will collaborate closely with product teams and research peers to transform insights into actionable product improvements. Working in a remote-first and globally distributed environment, you will engage with stakeholders across time zones and contribute to meaningful, impact-driven work. This position is ideal for a researcher who thrives in structured, mission-oriented environments and enjoys working on products with global social impact.
You will be responsible for leading and supporting end-to-end UX research activities, ensuring high-quality insights that directly inform product and design decisions.
- Coordinate closely with UX Research leads and stakeholders to define research goals, methodologies, timelines, and execution plans.
- Support the scoping and design of research projects, including selecting appropriate quantitative and mixed-method approaches.
- Manage all phases of the research process, including survey design, participant recruitment, data collection, and research operations.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and statistical interpretation, supported by data visualization and clear reporting of findings.
- Execute qualitative research components when needed, such as interviews, diary studies, or contextual inquiry.
- Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product strategy and user experience improvements.
- Communicate research outcomes effectively to diverse stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
You are an experienced UX Researcher with strong expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, capable of independently delivering end-to-end research projects.
- 5+ years of experience in UX Research, with a strong focus on quantitative research methods.
- Expertise in surveys, large-scale usability studies, diary studies, and UX benchmarking methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, data interpretation, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience conducting qualitative research such as interviews and contextual inquiry.
- Proven ability to lead research projects independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to identify and resolve blockers independently.
- Nice-to-haves: multilingual abilities, experience with open-source or volunteer communities, and familiarity with wiki-based platforms.
