This role is a senior leadership opportunity focused on delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services for commercial real estate clients. You will oversee the preparation and review of financial reports, KPIs, and management reporting packages while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling activities. The position blends technical accounting expertise with people management responsibilities, requiring you to lead and develop accounting professionals while ensuring consistent service delivery. You will collaborate closely with advisory teams and external stakeholders to enhance client outcomes and identify opportunities for expanded services. This is a highly client-facing role where your expertise directly influences financial clarity, compliance, and strategic decision-making. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will oversee financial reporting processes for real estate clients while managing and developing internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and delivering financial reports, KPIs, and management reporting packages for commercial real estate clients.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling processes to enhance financial planning accuracy.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance to clients and internal engagement teams, particularly in real estate contexts.
  • Managing, coaching, and developing staff and senior accountants to strengthen team performance and capabilities.
  • Collaborating with advisory teams and external partners to enhance client service delivery and identify growth opportunities.
  • Supporting onboarding of new clients, including system setup, process documentation, and operational integration.
  • Monitoring team performance metrics and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Assisting with the integration of new technologies and training team members on updated systems and tools.
  • Identifying opportunities to transition clients to higher-value advisory services in collaboration with internal teams.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting and financial reporting professional with strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of commercial real estate accounting. You should be highly analytical, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required).
  • 4–6 years of experience in public or private accounting, with a focus on commercial real estate.
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams or supervising accounting professionals.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or MBA (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of tax implications for partnerships and S-Corps.
  • Knowledge of AUM-based revenue models, performance fees, and revenue recognition considerations.
  • Experience with financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and client advisory services.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Yardi, QuickBooks Online, or AppFolio (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
