About This Position

Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs preventive maintenance, responds to downtime events, and supports continuous improvement efforts.

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on production equipment and/or facility systems per schedule.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; diagnose root cause and complete repairs.
  • Repair and replace components such as motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, sensors, valves, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and line changeovers; assist with commissioning and testing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow LOTO, OSHA, and company safety procedures.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements (e.g., PM enhancements, spare parts, redesigns).
  • Coordinate with production/operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Assist with inventory of spare parts and communicate parts needs to maintenance leadership.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (technical school or apprenticeship preferred).
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment (adjust as needed).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair:
    • Mechanical systems (drive systems, bearings, alignment, lubrication)
    • Basic electrical (motors, relays, sensors, VFD basics preferred)
    • Pneumatics/hydraulics (cylinders, regulators, valves)
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools (multimeter, amp clamp, etc.).
  • Comfortable working on feet, heights, and lifting up to 35 lbs, and working in a plant/facility environment.
  • PLC troubleshooting exposure (Allen-Bradley/Siemens)—basic I/O checking.
  • Welding/fabrication experience (MIG/TIG), pipefitting, or refrigeration/HVAC (if applicable).
