Fern is at the top of the trade show and expo service industry. Our operation spans more than 200 cities from coast to coast. In other words, wherever there’s a major convention center and event venue, we’re there with experienced local teams providing exceptional service and support, whenever you need it. We are looking to add an Event Manager to our Strategic Operations Group. The Event Manager is a strategic leader responsible for curating, developing, and executing a cohesive portfolio of high‑impact events that elevate brand presence, deepen stakeholder engagement, and drive measurable business outcomes. This role blends creative vision with operational excellence, ensuring every event—whether intimate executive gatherings or large‑scale flagship experiences—reflects the organization’s highest standards of sophistication, innovation, and precision.You will report directly to the SVP-Strategic Accounts Group. Position can be done remotely but you must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time to various shows. Salary is $120,000-130,000Click on this link to check us out! WHAT YOU’LL DO: Customer Engagement
- Own specific deliverables/components for a client event and drive them to fruition, utilizing best practices, appropriate resources, and vendor partnerships, while managing tasks according to project timelines
- Serve as the Clients’ primary point of contact following acceptance of an agreement or assignment of an account.
- Collaborate with other team members to create project plans, production schedules, project estimates, and meeting agendas; facilitate project planning meetings
- Provide proactive consultation with clients and team members to manage the expectations on the timing of deliverables
- Conduct venue selection and site inspections; make recommendations to support event requirements
- Manage assignment-related portions of master event timeline; meet deadlines
- Map engagement touchpoints across pre‑event, onsite, and post‑event phases to ensure a cohesive, high‑touch customer journey that strengthens brand affinity and accelerates relationship growth.
- Set high expectations for excellent customer service for the entire show team and hold the team accountable to the measurable results associated.
Portfolio & Event Servicing Provide Clients with information and assistance related to available services and solutionsInterface with operations, warehouse, office personnel, and external partners to ensure smooth and reliable delivery of all client requests. Regular and consistent interaction with other operating departments to effectively plan for efficient show production.Assuring the materials and labor are available to accomplish all production activities in advance of the event and at the event site. Build relationships with the workforce, facility, and vendor representatives that lead to efficient operations and service delivery.Develop professional relationships that result in the long-term retention of clients and vendors. Perform prompt, thorough, and effective verbal, written, and face-to-face communications Corporate and Show ManagementManage and review client budget to ensure the requests are financially solid to the P&L.Responsible for ensuring that the team understands the financial drivers and objectives of the show and the related risk factors.
WHO YOU ARE: 7–10+ years of experience in event management, experience in trade shows, corporate events, or related industry preferred Proven success managing a diverse portfolio of events with complex logistics and high executive visibility.Exceptional project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.Strong creative sensibility paired with a meticulous eye for detail and quality.Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities.Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑expectation environments with poise and professionalism.Strong client relationship and service delivery experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills, along with presentation experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce (or other CRM).Travel required up to 30% of the time.Working nights and weekends when necessary
