Clinical RN or LVN Med/Surg/Tele at Medical Center Hospital – Odessa, Texas

Position Summary for RN:

Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experienced R.N. Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process.

Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experienced R.N. Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process.

Education:

Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or a current Texas permit or license as a LVN.

Training and Experience:

Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.

The Telemetry/Stroke unit is located on 9 Central. Patients are under continuous electronic monitoring while on a telemetry unit. This automatically communicates measurements and data to receiving equipment for monitoring. The monitored heart rate, heart rhythm, breathing and more is communicated to a monitoring station for a medical professional to view.

9 Central is home to the Dr. Abdul Kadir Stroke Center of Excellence. Nurses working on this 9 Central unit know that their nursing skills will be utilized with important, time-sensitive work that saves lives.
