About This Position
Job Summary:
The Tool Crib Attendant maintains the organization of all turret tooling in the tool crib. The attendant will prepare tooling for turret programs to be run by the turret operators. Using the tool sheets provided by programming, they will identify the necessary tool and mark the tool to aid the turret operators in accurately loading the machine. The attendant will be responsible for managing the turret tooling and maintaining acceptable tools based on manufacturing specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Set up and run a turret press.
Prepare turret tooling using existing tool setup sheets.
Sharpen tools and mark tooling for accurate loading into turret press.
Order new and replacement, or repair tools, turret tooling and equipment as needed.
Maintain tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition.
Maintain software catalog and organization of tools.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to apply fractions, addition, subtraction, division and decimals, and common fractions in all units of measure.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or general education (GED) is required.
One to three years of related experience and/or training.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up 35-50 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions.
The employee regularly works near moving, vibrating mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock.
Noise level is usually loud; hearing protection and testing are required. PPE required.
Safety shoes/boots are required.
Working in the Fab department may require employee to occasionally work around chemicals for cleaning and lubrication.
The pay range for this position is $19.00-$22.00 per hour. The base pay offered may vary depending on the position offered, geographic location, education, training, and/or experience.
