Lab Technician at Symphony Spine and Pain – Ormond Beach, Florida

The Laboratory Toxicology Technician is responsible for assisting in the detection, analysis, and reporting of chemical, biological, and toxic substances in biological samples. The role requires adherence to laboratory safety standards, precise analytical techniques, and collaboration with laboratory scientists to ensure accurate and timely results.

• Prepare, label, and process biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue) for toxicology analysis.
• Perform routine and specialized toxicological assays using instrumentation such as GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC, or immunoassays.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including test results, quality control logs, and sample tracking.
• Assist in interpreting preliminary toxicology data under the supervision of senior toxicologists.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, laboratory regulations, and quality control standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Manage inventory of reagents, chemicals, and consumables.
• Participate in proficiency testing, method validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate findings and support preparation of reports for healthcare providers, law enforcement, or research studies.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, or a related field.
• Experience in clinical or forensic toxicology laboratory preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation (GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC) and data analysis software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow protocols precisely and maintain confidentiality.
