This role is a high-impact sales leadership position focused on driving growth within key accounts in the food industry. The Account Director will act as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions across a diverse portfolio of products. This position combines strategic account management, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve sales, volume, and profitability goals. The role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with decision-makers, identifying new product opportunities, and contributing to long-term business strategies. The position involves substantial travel, working independently, and collaborating closely with internal teams including R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Culinary. - Drive growth in strategic accounts by delivering customized product solutions and identifying new opportunities aligned with client needs.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key decision-makers, acting as a trusted advisor through consultative selling.
- Contribute insights and strategies to annual sales planning, aligning plans with market trends and organizational objectives.
- Achieve or exceed sales, volume, and profitability targets, ensuring activities align with budget and priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Culinary to align offerings with client needs and innovation pipelines.
- Lead sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline management, using CRM tools and data analytics to monitor performance and support operational planning.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional activities with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; business, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive sales or account management experience, preferably in the food or related industries.
- Demonstrated success in building and growing strategic customer relationships.
- Consultative selling skills with a data-driven, strategic approach.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication abilities.
- Comfortable working independently with 50–60% travel requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Experience selling customized or private-label food products is a plus.
