Job Summary
The Sales Director is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for driving revenue growth across our commercial printing division. This role oversees the development and execution of innovative sales strategies, leads and mentors a high-performing sales team, and cultivates strong relationships with local and regional clients. The Sales Director leverages data, and market insights and analytics to maximize revenue opportunities. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual collaborates cross-functionally to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous growth.
This remote opportunity is open to candidates who currently reside within the physical/digital footprint of FCC - North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Essential Functions
- Develop, execute, and continuously refine comprehensive sales strategies that align with corporate objectives and drive sustained revenue growth within the commercial printing division.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and performance management to Sales and Customer Service Representative (CSR) teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Direct all aspects of sales team staffing, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives; conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans to elevate individual and team effectiveness.
- Design and optimize the sales organizational structure, including territory alignment, account assignments, quota setting, and performance benchmarks to maximize market coverage and efficiency.
- Establish ambitious yet attainable sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively monitor progress to ensure consistent achievement or overachievement of revenue goals.
- Develop and implement incentive programs, commission structures, and recognition initiatives that motivate Account Executives and drive revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Analyze market conditions, industry trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to identify new business opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and high-value prospects to support retention, growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, production, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives and capabilities.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of compelling sales presentations, proposals, and bids, providing guidance and support to ensure effectiveness and consistency in messaging.
- Prepare, analyze, and present accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance metrics to senior leadership, using data to drive informed business decisions.
- Manage and administer the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize return on investment and support company priorities.
- Stay informed on advancements in commercial printing technologies, services, and industry best practices to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and leading high-performing teams in a comparable role.
- Experience in or knowledge of the commercial printing industry is strongly preferred; candidates with transferable experience in adjacent industries will also be considered.
- Proven leadership capability with a mentorship-driven approach; ability to inspire, develop, and retain talent by understanding and leveraging individual motivators and strengths.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of an organization and with external partners.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to inform decision-making and optimize performance.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience leveraging sales technology to manage pipelines, reporting, and forecasting.
- Working knowledge of digital sales strategies, e-commerce platforms, and integrated marketing solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and executional excellence.
- Ability and flexibility to travel as needed within assigned territories/company footprint to support client relationships, team development, and participation in company meetings, training, and events.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company, and an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
Expected compensation for this role is between $90,000 and $140,000/year, based on qualifications and experience, combination of base salary and bonus potential.
