This role plays a critical part in strengthening data integrity, governance, and usability across R&D functions in a fast-evolving life sciences environment. You will act as the primary custodian of data meaning and quality across research, clinical, safety, and regulatory domains, ensuring information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with global standards. Working at the intersection of science, technology, and governance, you will help enable trusted data foundations that support analytics, AI, and regulatory decision-making. The position involves close collaboration with data engineering, governance, and business stakeholders to define standards and resolve complex data challenges. You will also contribute to master data management initiatives that ensure consistency across key R&D data domains. This is a highly cross-functional and impact-driven role where your work directly supports innovation in oncology and patient outcomes.
- Lead the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of R&D data governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with FAIR principles and regulatory expectations.
- Own and maintain business definitions, metadata standards, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for R&D data assets across multiple domains.
- Perform advanced data profiling and quality assessments to identify issues related to completeness, accuracy, consistency, and validity of datasets.
- Define and enforce data quality rules, KPIs, and SLAs while monitoring performance and driving remediation of data issues.
- Oversee master data management initiatives to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant data across key R&D domains.
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, IT, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable governance and data solutions.
- Support audit readiness, regulatory compliance (including GxP), and risk mitigation through documented governance practices.
- Facilitate workshops, support change management, and promote a strong culture of data stewardship across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years in Life Sciences, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, and/or master data management, ideally within biotech or pharmaceutical R&D.
- Strong expertise in R&D data domains, FAIR data principles, and regulatory/compliance frameworks (including GxP).
- Hands-on experience with data governance and MDM tools such as Informatica, Collibra, and Reltio.
- Proficiency in data profiling, data quality management, and metadata/cataloging practices.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in SQL and familiarity with Python or R (preferred).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to lead governance initiatives, influence without authority, and drive data-driven change.
- Competitive base salary range: $123,200 – $163,200 annually
