This role sits within a high-performing global supply chain organization and plays a critical part in ensuring effective procurement strategy, supplier performance, and contract execution across multiple business units. You will lead and develop a team responsible for managing sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier relationships for both high-value and strategic contracts. The position requires strong leadership in a complex, regulated environment where precision, accountability, and collaboration are essential. You will be responsible for aligning procurement operations with broader organizational goals while driving efficiency, cost optimization, and risk mitigation. Operating in a mission-driven and technically advanced environment, this role offers exposure to large-scale programs and cross-functional stakeholders. It is best suited for a hands-on leader who thrives in structured processes while improving and scaling them. The role is remote with occasional travel and is ideally based in the Southern California area.
- Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, overseeing sourcing activities, contract execution, and supplier management across multiple divisions.
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes including RFQs, negotiations, source selection, price analysis, and contract lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain strong strategic supplier relationships while evaluating performance across delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
- Identify procurement risks and opportunities, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation strategies are in place.
- Align procurement strategies and team objectives with broader organizational and divisional goals.
- Execute negotiations for long-term agreements and high-value contracts while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to support program execution and optimize supply chain performance.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the development of scalable procurement practices across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years, or High School diploma with 9+ years in supply chain, procurement, contracts, or related fields.
- Direct experience in procurement or subcontract management.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, processes, or cross-functional projects.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, sourcing strategies, and supplier performance management.
- Familiarity with procurement regulations including FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and export compliance requirements.
- Experience with pre- and post-award procurement processes, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in complex, regulated environments with strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Preferred: experience with budgeting, earned value management (EVM), and technical/engineering requirements.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $121,000 to $181,600 annually.
