We are seeking an experienced front-end developer to join a solid multidisciplinary team working on a variety of products used by Storyful's News and Content team and external clients. By joining our team you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of our products by being involved in the process from start to finish. To this, we expect our developers to be vocal about issues and to strive to be proactive rather than reactive. Storyful prioritises the growth of it's staff and the tech team facilitate this through various initiatives like:

• Mentoring programme
• Hackathons
• Gold Cards
• Workshops
• Ladies in Tech group and many more.

Responsibilities will include:

• Quality, maintainability, performance and security of front-end code
• Working in a multidisciplinary development team
• Collaborate effectively with product owners, other developers and non-technical stakeholders
• Promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the development lifecycle
• Contribute to and maintain Storyful's Design System.
• Support and mentor other developers to encourage growth through code reviews, pair programming and workshops.

Ideally you'll have:

• 5+ years of Javascript experience
• Record of building and shipping product
• Fluent with HTML5, SASS/SCSS and working with adaptive/responsive layouts
• Experience creating automated front-end tests
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to use them
• Git or similar experience

Nice to have:

• Professional experience with EmberJs
• Other frontend framework experience such as AngularJs, VueJs etc.
• Interest in containerisation and orchestration technologies; such as Docker, Compose, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with a GNU/Linux or UNIX environment
• Experience with an Agile methodology; e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP
• Line management experience
