Physical Therapist

Naval Health Clinic Hawaii

• Monday through Friday

• Between the hours of 0600 and 1800

• Shifts are typically 8.5–9 hours, including an uncompensated 30–60 minute lunch break

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy OR

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002

• Graduate of a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Physical Therapist license

• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience as a Physical Therapist within the past 5 years

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide a full range of physical therapy services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF)

• Evaluate patients and develop written treatment plans based on clinical assessments

• Administer manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises to improve and maintain patient function

• Instruct and assist patients with functional activities, daily living tasks, and the use of assistive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, prostheses)

• Perform soft tissue mobilization using appropriate techniques and knowledge of anatomy and physiology

• Administer traction therapy using approved equipment to relieve pain

• Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and progress in patient charts and/or automated medical systems

• Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members; communicate patient care concerns as needed

• Conduct prevention, wellness, education, and screening activities to promote positive health behaviors

• Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, delegating tasks appropriately

• Evaluate, document, and sign all physical therapy evaluations and reports

• Maintain familiarity with the Department of Defense TRICARE Program requirements

• Wear a beeper during clinic hours as required

• Ensure all patient visits are coded by the end of the workday
