Position Summary:
The Technology Specialist I will provide technical assistance, support, and training to the administrative and front-line staff of Fortune Bay Resort Casino. The Specialist will also provide support and assistance in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer workstation hardware and software, information networks, and associated information systems and equipment.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technology Specialist I is responsible for the following duties:
- Respond to service calls; diagnose and corrects simple equipment, software, and operating system failures and malfunctions; refer repair and/or replacement of malfunctioning equipment and/or software to senior staff; contact vendors for equipment service.
- Operate system software and computer hardware including various computer programs and system equipment, such as computers, media drives, storage area networks, network devices, and printers.
- Install, set up, and maintain workstations.
- Performs maintenance on system equipment, such as inspecting and cleaning, computers, laptops, and printers.
- Make recommendations on software and hardware purchases based on assigned tasks.
- Perform security measures to back up data files on disk; restore files from backup devices when requested.
- Document all work done and maintain existing documentation.
- Monitor system communication equipment on networks to identify and resolve communication network failures.
- Assist with the inventory and delivery of hardware equipment.
- Install and configure software applications.
- Assist in networking such as running Cat6 cabling and RJ45 crimping.
- Gain a general understanding of software applications used by the business as part of the support role.
- Provide support for critical situations after normal business hours as part of an on-call rotation.
- Demonstrates punctual and reliable attendance in accordance with designated work schedule.
- Complies with applicable safety rules, laws and practices; uses proper safety equipment and procedures in all operations.
- Make calls to vendors to open support tickets and assist them as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
It is recommended that the IT Specialist have a two-year technical degree related to Information Technology or have a minimum of two years’ experience in providing technical support and assistance in a similar capacity. In addition, the following knowledge, skill, and abilities are required:
- Basic knowledge of contemporary intelligent workstation software products and packages.
- Basic knowledge of computer network concepts, equipment, and facilities.
- Basic knowledge of techniques, procedures, and methods of installing, maintaining, and operating intelligent workstation hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Basic knowledge of contemporary PC-based and server-based operating systems.
- Skill in analyzing and effectively resolving routine software, network, and equipment problems.
- Skill in reading, interpreting, and understanding hardware principles and operations, technical manuals, and software specifications.
- Skill in prioritizing and completing projects proficiently, accurately and on a timely basis with limited supervisory review.
- Skill in communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Skill in understanding and effectively carrying out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to keep up to date on technological developments and trends.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Tribal Gaming/casinos.

Physical Demands:
Job-specific abilities and requirements include:
Driving, light lifting, and extensive computer use is required.
This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position.
The ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights is required.
