Human Resources Generalist at Kustom US Inc – Longwood, Florida
About This Position
At Kustom, we bring order to chaos after disaster strikes - restoring property, stability, and peace of mind for businesses and families across the country. Our HR team helps make that possible by keeping our people operations steady, compliant, and ready to support teams when the pace is fast and the stakes are high.
What You Do
You are the kind of HR partner people trust - steady, responsive, and able to handle the details without losing sight of what the business needs. Your support helps leaders and employees solve real problems the right way the first time, using a solution-oriented approach and consistent follow up. You show up with professionalism, stay calm when priorities shift, and handle sensitive information with discretion. You keep work moving by managing the HR inbox with urgency and sound judgment, triaging requests, and delegating appropriately so the right issues get to the right people. You are successful in this role by:
- Providing general HR support to leaders and employees across the United States and acting as a liaison to external partners
- Managing the HR inbox by triaging requests, responding with professionalism and urgency, and delegating or escalating appropriately so work keeps moving
- Facilitating onboarding from offer accepted through day one, coordinating pre-start steps, keeping managers and Talent Acquisition Manager informed, and helping ensure a smooth first-week experience
- Processing employee benefits enrollments and changes, administering 401(k) plan and annual reporting requirements, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation
- Partnering with the HR Leadership team to navigate employee relations concerns, conducting investigations with discretion and consistency, and maintaining accurate, audit-ready documentation in HRIS and employee files
What You Bring
You care about doing things right and treating people well, even when things are moving fast. You bring a steady, professional presence, and people trust you because you communicate clearly, protect confidentiality, and follow through. You take a solution-oriented approach, use sound judgment, and stay calm under pressure. You are coachable, adaptable, and comfortable working 100% onsite as part of a high-accountability team. You thrive in this role because you bring:
- Strong judgment and discretion with confidential information, including employee relations matters, investigations, and compensation-related details
- A customer service mindset, professional approach, and clear, confident communication with employees and leaders
- Practical problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- The ability to stay organized, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly as needs shift, plus working knowledge of employment and labor law basics
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, plus 1 to 2 years of hands-on HR experience supporting benefits, workers’ compensation, employee relations, and HRIS work (ADP/UKG preferred), or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- SHRM-CP or PHR credential, or interest in earning one, preferred
