Occupational Therapist (OT) - Part Time 12-15 Hours Per Week at Westchester Institute for Human Development – Valhalla, New York

Summary of Occupational Therapist (OT): Exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist seeking part-time, flexible hours in the Westchester area. The Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide occupational therapy and assistive technology services to individuals of all ages and different disabilities through information and resources, evaluations, training, and therapeutic interventions. Flexibility is needed to meet the constantly changing make up of consumers being served, their level of health, and their location of service provision. The ideal candidate should have a natural interest in technology, with a specific focus on assistive technology for learning.

Other responsibilities include:

• Provide trainings, initial consultations, equipment demonstrations and technical support to individuals who need occupational therapy and assistive technology, including family members, service providers, and other referral sources
• Maintain daily, quarterly, and evaluation report documentation in a timely fashion
• Scheduling appointments and returning informational seeking phone requests

Education: Master’s degree, Certification in occupational therapy, and appropriate NY state licensure.

Knowledge of: Occupational diagnostic and treatment clinical procedure; assistive technology access and writing devices, strategies, interventions, and computer applications; Functions of assistive technology devices; knowledge of federal and state regulations; knowledge of funding.

Kind and Length of Experience: 2-3 years’ experience preferred as an occupational therapy practitioner and/or assistive technology service provider, but entry level graduates also considered.

Rate of Pay: $55.00 Per Hour
