Unit Clerk at Bethany Village – Horseheads, New York

Bethany Village is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to support the nursing team with clerical, scheduling, and documentation tasks. This role plays an important part in ensuring smooth communication, accurate records, and coordinated care for our residents.

Position Overview:

Responsible to assist with various functions on the nursing unit; including patient care, staffing, and documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for appointments and setting up transportation for residents.
• Manage monthly Optometry & Podiatry Clinics.
• Prepare charts for new admissions and maintain resident Identification bands.
• Filing and assisting with resident transfer out of facility.
• Transcribe monthly data onto charts.
• Transcription of lab and radiology orders.
• PPO’s and OA data.

Basic Duties & Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all established safety regulations and guidelines.
• Fill in for Scheduler as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality in regards to resident’s privacy and care.
• Ensure signatures of appropriate team members and completed MDS before filing in records.
• Endorses and complies with the vision, objectives, procedures, and policies of Bethany Village.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education Required:

• Certified Nurse Aide required
• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English is required.
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle are required.

Experience Required:

• Experience with working with geriatric residents.
• Knowledge/Understanding of elderly residents.
