Skilled Labourer - Midstream at OCL Group Inc. – Dawson Creek, British Columbia

The Role

We are looking for experienced Skilled Labourers to join our team for a project based near Dawson Creek, BC. We are looking for locals in the area. There is no LOA or camp.

Compensation/Benefits

• Wages are based on experience.
• Overtime at 1.5 x after 8 hours per day
• Health, dental, vision, travel benefits (50/50 split) after 90 days.
• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours worked.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices
• Assist skilled trades as required
• Operate basic hand and power tools safety and effectively
• Set up and dismantle temporary structures, barricades and safety fencing if required
• Perform spotting and flagging duties when required
• Read and understand site-specific instructions prior to each shift
• Site cleaning and preparation
• Digging and trenching
• Maintain a clean and organized work area / job site
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings
• Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing and working in various weather conditions)
• Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
• Ensure a safe team environment. Strong teamwork skills with a positive and reliable work ethic
• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and understand instructions given.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020 (or equivalent), H2S Alive
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Must reside in or around Dawson Creek
