We are currently looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team!

THIS POSITION IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN OUR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE LOCATED IN FT. MYERS, FL.

We are seeking a full-time, Communications Specialist who has an “eye” for details and a desire to grow in the world of Ophthalmology. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused and a team player.

YOUR DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the initial contact for prospective patients via all methods of contact (i.e., telephone, website, fax).
  • Ensures all calls and web leads received during business hours are answered immediately and in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Makes certain that all patient calls are efficiently routed to the most appropriate department/person
  • Ensures that all after-hours call have been followed up with in a timely manner.
  • Engages with each inquirer, building value and a positive relationship laying the foundation for a positive long lasting patient experience.
  • Monitors all systems for prospective patients not converted to exams.
  • Obtains and accurately records all prospective patient contact and referral source information into the CRM and Practice Management systems.
  • Responsible for maximizing show rate and quality of patients.
  • Follows up via phone, e-mail, and mail to convert past inbound inquiries that didn’t schedule or cancelled/no showed for their exam.
  • Participates in out-bound calling campaigns to assist in filling clinic schedule.
  • Handles patient inquiries using available resources including Electronic Medical Records software.
  • Ensures all Patient Services Representative activities are following HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Identifies, recommends, and supports opportunities for methods/process improvements.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

WHAT POWERS YOUR SUCCESS

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management and Practice Management Software
  • Passionate desire to be a part of a growing organization and contribute to the overall success of the team
  • Significant phone sales experience with excellent telephone demeanor
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Team player with a positive approach
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent, professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment or related peripherals weighing up to 25 pounds
