About This Position

The RMP Promise

Rocky Mountain Prep is a movement of educators, families, scholars, and advocates committed to changing public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families. We operate twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade, and we are fundamentally a world-class learning organization that invests deeply in every educator who joins us. Teachers engage in ongoing coaching and professional development, supported by clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities to strengthen their craft and advance along individualized career pathways grounded in our PEAK values. Rooted in a culture of rigor and love, RMP promises to coach, develop, and champion every team member so they can do their best work and grow as professionals, people, and leaders.

Our Approach to School Leadership

At Rocky Mountain Prep, we believe school leadership is both deeply human and relentlessly outcomes-driven. Our principals are not distant managers. They are instructional leaders, culture builders, and system designers who ensure every student, every day, experiences rigorous, affirming learning. We center our work on students who have been historically underserved, and we design schools where multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and all children can access grade-level content and thrive.

We approach leadership as a balance of urgency and care. Principals are expected to drive rapid improvement while building trust, fostering belonging, and developing the adults around them. This means leading with clarity, making hard decisions when needed, and staying grounded in relationships with students, staff, and families.

We do not believe in heroic leadership. We believe in sustainable leadership. Principals build strong teams, develop future leaders, and create systems that last beyond any one individual. At RMP, principals partner closely with network leaders, families, and their communities to build schools that are not only improving but built to sustain excellence over time.

Principals at Rocky Mountain Prep Will…

  • Coach teachers with clarity and urgency, providing frequent, actionable feedback and modeling strong instruction
  • Strengthen intervention systems, reteach structures, and Tier 1 instruction across all classrooms
Build Culture Rooted in Rigor and Belonging

Drive Strategic and Operational Clarity
  • Align staffing, schedules, and resources to accelerate progress toward school goals
  • Manage budgets, compliance, and systems with discipline, clarity, and sustainability
  • Lead with visibility and presence in classrooms, hallways, and community spaces
Develop and Retain Strong Teams
  • Build and retain a team committed to students and continuous improvement
  • Develop leadership capacity at all levels so success is distributed and sustainable
  • Create an environment where adults feel both challenged and supported
  • Partner with network leaders to scale successes and navigate challenges
Champion Equity and Community Partnership

  • Build trust with families and engage them as true partners in student success
  • Navigate community and district dynamics with professionalism and care
