About This Position
Job Summary:
The Strength & Conditioning Coach is responsible for designing and implementing safe, effective training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and promote overall student-athlete wellness. This role supports all athletic teams and works closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and school staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sport-specific and general strength & conditioning programs for student-athletes.
- Teach proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and injury prevention strategies.
- Supervise weight room and training sessions to ensure safety and proper equipment use.
- Collaborate with head coaches and NWC Athletic Trainer/PT to align training with team goals and competition schedules.
- Monitor and track athlete progress, including strength, speed, and conditioning metrics.
- Modify programs for athletes based on age, experience, and injury status.
- Promote a positive, disciplined, and inclusive training environment.
- Educate athletes on nutrition, recovery, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Maintain and organize strength training equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with NWC school policies and WIAA athletic association regulations.

Compensation: Stipend of $10,000 for year. ($2500 for each season -summer, fall, winter, spring)
Requirements:Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field
- Demonstrates personal relationship with Jesus Christ, exemplifying a lifestyle that honors God, actively participating in an evangelical Bible-believing church, and approaching this role with a servant’s heart that reflects its importance as a ministry of NWCS.
- Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., NSCA-CSCS, USAW, NASM)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Previous experience working with high school or youth athletes.
- Strong knowledge of strength training, conditioning, and injury prevention principles.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, including weight room and training fields.
- Approximately 5-6 hours a week.
- During upcoming summer (2026)- flexibility in hours offered.
- During 2026-2027 school year, position is for zero hour strength training instruction from 7:00-8:00 am.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and lift/move equipment.
- Stand for extended periods and actively supervise training sessions.
