We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Manager to support day-to-day activities of the Inspection and the Quality Engineering departments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with NetSuite. This role ensures that the product is produced in accordance with the customer’s requirements. The Quality Manager is responsible for interpreting and communicating contract quality requirements, developing and implementing inspection, test and audit procedures and programs, with appropriate measurements and written documentation, to meet the quality requirements. The Quality Manager performs failure analysis; recommends disposition and corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audits of the IA Quality Management System to determine compliance in Engineering and Operations. Ensure processes are being followed in accordance with all QMS processes. When deficiencies are noted, corrective actions must be initiated and closed in a timely manner.
  • Assist Purchasing with evaluation of prospective suppliers to determine their suitability as long-term business partners. Actively participate in the supplier selection process.
  • Participate in new product development teams to understand IA’s future supply base needs, and work to fill any gaps that may arise.
  • Monitor supplier performance compared to quality and delivery targets. Work with supply base to continuously improve. Report metrics and participate in supplier scorecard evaluations.
  • Oversee Supplier Corrective Actions to assure timely and thorough response, resulting in continuous improvement.
  • Keep tabs on changes at key suppliers that could potentially affect IA business. Mitigate risk in supply base whenever possible by raising awareness and recommending actions.
  • Along with Engineering, work toward speedy resolution of MRB decisions. Strive to eliminate recurrence of MRB issues.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Strive to thoroughly understand customer concerns. When appropriate, determine, document and implement effective corrective actions to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, process consistency and quality metrics for all departmental operations.
  • Provide reliable technical engineering expertise to Quality Assurance and Purchasing personnel as needed. Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of relevant customers and regulatory standards.
  • Develop expertise and in-depth technical knowledge for all IA products. Understand and control design features and critical characteristics that impact product performance.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with IA safety policies. Help ensure the safety of all IA employees and visitors.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the IA Quality Manual and Code of Conduct Policy.
  • Be sure all communications and records (files) are free from poorly worded memos and reports which inaccurately and imprudently cast doubts on IA products or processes.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, fault tree analysis, APQP, FMEA’s, error-proofing and other, similar techniques preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Work within the IA facility in Exton, PA.
  • Must be able to travel internationally to facilities in the USA, Europe, Mexico, China and other countries as needed. As the need arises, must be able to travel for training, seminars, supplier visits, and customer visits both inside and outside the country
  • Contribute overtime as required to complete projects in a timely manner and meet customer deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing work environment.
  • Working knowledge in computer sciences to operate in a Windows environment. Must have a general understanding of statistics and databases, especially as they relate to testing requirements and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, fault tree analysis, APQP, FMEA’s, error-proofing and other, similar techniques preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and 14 CFR Part 145 regulations
  • Working knowledge of J-STD-001D and IPC A-610D
  • Working knowledge of various quality control systems such as, SPC, TQM, ISO9000 / AS9100, etc.
  • Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor
