Pet Spa Specialist at Pender Pet Retreat – Chantilly, Virginia

Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Pet Spa Specialist to join our team, specializing in basic bathing and grooming services for the animals in our care. As a Pet Bather, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our furry residents, ensuring they are comfortable and happy during their stay at our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Provide basic bathing services for animals, ensuring a thorough and gentle cleansing.
• Use appropriate shampoos and grooming products based on the specific needs and coat types of each animal.
• Assist with basic grooming tasks, such as brushing, to ensure a clean and tangle-free coat.
• Trim and file nails as needed, ensuring the comfort and well-being of the animals.
• Conduct visual health checks during bathing, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to management.
• Monitor and report any skin issues, lumps, or abnormalities that may require attention.
• Maintain cleanliness in bathing and grooming areas to ensure a hygienic and safe environment.
• Adhere to strict hygiene standards when handling grooming tools and products.
• Keep accurate records of bathing schedules, grooming services provided, and any health-related observations.
• Provide timely and detailed reports to management.
• Collaborate with other team members, including Pet Care Pros and Shift Leaders, to ensure comprehensive care for all animals.
• Participate in team discussions and training sessions.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in pet bathing or grooming is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic animal behavior and comfort in handling pets during bathing.
• Ability to use grooming tools and products effectively and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and a gentle approach in handling animals.
• Effective communication and collaboration within a team setting.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
• Ability to become Fear Free Certified within 12 months of employment.
