Summary/Objective
Keeping high quality in mind at all times, applies paint/powder coat to various metal components in a safe and efficient manner. Works on Custom orders and may change colors, keep track of paperwork and train others.

Essential Functions

  • Apply paint/powder coating to various vent products
  • Prepare surface with cleaning solution to remove oil, dust, dirt, etc.
  • Use powder guns to paint product. Adjust nozzles to obtain proper dispersion of spray
  • Check flow of powder
  • Change over operation to multiple colors
  • Bake product to cure powder coat
  • Inspect product for flaws
  • Perform inspection prior to and after cure process
  • Follows required cure procedures
  • Clean all equipment at the end of shift
  • Tracks paperwork of powder coated orders and ensures accuracy of product and paper trail
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Assist packing area as needed with all packing procedures
  • Ability to coat a variety of products ranging from small to very large
  • Properly hangs materials to avoid damage and ensure proper coating
  • Meets and exceeds performance goals
  • Training of new employees to powder coat.
  • Orders supplies as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Temperature is varied to the temperature outside due to open doors and garages. This position exposes employee to extreme heat.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift overhead (7 feet) and/or move items up to, or sometimes over, 50 pounds.
  • Certain tasks require standing for entire shift.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday. Shift is

  • First shift: 7:00am-3:30pm


Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a high school education
  • Prior powder coating experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and read a tape measure
