Lifeguard (Seasonal) at City Of Leawood Kansas – Leawood, Kansas

Are you ideal for working as a Lifeguard at the Leawood Aquatic?

• Are you 15 years of age OR older?
• Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
• Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
• Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
• Do you have swimming experience?
• Do you love being in the water?
• No lifeguard experience, not a problem!
• You will receive the necessary certification and experience at the Leawood Aquatic Center! As part of the certification process, you will be required to swim 100 yards, tread water, and submerge to 14 feet deep.

As the Lifeguard, you will work:

• Approximately 20 – 40 hours per week between 7 am and 10 pm.
• Weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The Pool Season runs from May to September.

A few of the things you will be doing include:

• Maintaining focused attention and monitoring the safety of patrons within assigned guarding areas.
• Performing rescues during emergencies using appropriate techniques and equipment and providing first aid if needed.
• Overseeing and maintaining the overall safety of the aquatic center daily.
• Fulfilling the required in-service training hours monthly.
