Position Description

Job Summary:

Summers Taylor Inc. currently has an opening for an Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control (EPSC) Inspector/Environmental Assistant (Trainee). The Environmental Compliance Specialist will report to Summers-Taylor’s lead Environmental Specialist. The prospective candidate will travel to company construction project sites and perform a walk-thru site evaluation inspection and complete minor repairs if needed, to on-site (EPSC) measures using various hand tools and materials. Upon a thorough evaluation of the sites, necessary repairs, and documentation (TDEC) of findings, will be handled promptly and accurately. The ideal candidate must possess or be capable of completing the (TN. Level-1 Erosion and Sediment Control Training Program) to secure inspection position, with future training to obtain a North Carolina (E&S) Erosion and Sediment Control Level-ll certification for (NCDOT) projects.

Job Duties:

  1. Traveling to all of Summers-Taylor, Inc. projects when needed.
  2. Aid in maintaining state stormwater and erosion control reports.
  3. Aid in maintaining mobile rock crusher records.
  4. Assist in collecting stormwater samples.
  5. Meet with personnel including TDEC inspectors, project managers, subcontractors, etc.
  6. Manual installation of wood or steel 4 X 4 posts by using post hole digger and shovel.
  7. Documentation and record keeping.
  8. Additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements

Job Requirements:

  1. HS Diploma or above required.
  2. Proficient Office 360 knowledge required.
  3. Ability to read and interpret civil site plans.
  4. Valid Driver’s License.
  5. AutoCAD knowledge is a plus, not required.
  6. Ability to lift 50lbs +
  7. Must be able to physically bend, kneel and squat.
