About This Position
The Patient Support Associate (PSA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of clinical Patient Support Associates in a high-volume Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered front-line services while supporting efficient clinical operations. The Patient Support Associate Supervisor provides daily leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to ensure excellent patient access, flow, and experience across all clinical service areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership
• Directly supervises, coaches, and supports a team of Patient Support Associates across clinical departments
• Conducts onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Provides real-time guidance in a fast-paced environment
• Supports hiring, evaluations, and corrective action
Patient Access & Front Desk Operations
• Oversees front desk and intake operations
• Ensures proper registration, scheduling, and patient flow
• Addresses patient concerns professionally
Quality, Compliance & Data Integrity
• Ensures accurate registration and insurance verification
• Maintains HIPAA and regulatory compliance
• Supports audits and quality improvement initiatives
Operations & Improvement
• Identifies workflow improvements
• Tracks access and service metrics
• Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2–3 years healthcare patient access experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• FQHC or community health experience strongly preferred
