About This Position
Responsibilities and Duties: Working under the supervision of the Director of Family and Prevention Services, the Professional Supervised Visitation Monitor is responsible for observing and documenting court-ordered or agency-approved visits between children and non-custodial parents or other parties. The Professional Supervised Visitation Monitor is also responsible for conducting supervised exchanges.

Specific duties include:
- Ensures supervised visitation and exchange rooms are set up and ready for their respective activities;
- Checks in visiting party by assigning the visitation room, ensuring all items brought for the visit are screened and applicable items are locked away, and conducting wand screenings to ensure no weapons;
- Supervises and observes visits between children and visiting parties in accordance with court orders and/or agency policies;
- Supervises and observes exchanges of children between custodial party and non-custodial party by managing the “staggered” arrival and departure of parties to ensure parents do not have contact with one another, reducing the potential for conflict;
- Ensures the safety, well-being, and emotional comfort of the child;
- Maintains a neutral, nonjudgmental presence during visits and exchanges while complying with all legal and organizational guidelines;
- Intervenes only when necessary to enforce visitation rules or to protect the child;
- Accurately documents observations, behaviors, and interactions during visits and exchanges by preparing detailed, factual reports within required timeframes;
- Reports safety concerns, violations, or incidents promptly by completing an incident report and notifying the supervisor;
- Communicates professionally with parents, guardians, attorneys, and agency staff as needed;
- Maintains client files and audits as assigned;
- Testifies in court as assigned;
- Attends case reviews and other meetings as required;
- Teaches parenting classes as assigned;
- Other duties may be assigned as circumstances warrant.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children, families, or in social services preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged situations.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Strong observation and documentation skills.
