This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and driving the global HR risk and compliance strategy across a complex, multinational environment. It plays a critical part in strengthening governance, ensuring regulatory alignment, and embedding proactive risk management into HR operations worldwide. The role oversees the design and continuous improvement of HR compliance frameworks, policies, and control structures to ensure consistency, scalability, and accountability across regions. It requires close partnership with senior HR and business leaders to translate evolving regulations into practical operational guidance. The position also leads global Centers of Excellence, ensuring strong oversight of key HR risk domains such as immigration, background screening, workers’ compensation, and records management. It is a highly influential role that supports enterprise decision-making and reinforces a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
- Define and lead the global HR risk and compliance strategy, including governance model, operating framework, and long-term roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Provide enterprise-level oversight of HR risk posture, compliance performance, and policy governance, ensuring clear reporting, escalation, and executive visibility.
- Design and implement global governance standards and control frameworks to strengthen risk mitigation, accountability, and regulatory adherence.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate HR operational risks by embedding risk management practices into HR systems, processes, and decision-making.
- Lead global HR policy lifecycle management, ensuring consistency, regulatory alignment, and effective implementation across all regions.
- Develop and continuously enhance global HR risk and compliance programs to ensure scalability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Translate complex and evolving regulatory requirements into actionable HR guidance, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Lead HR Centers of Excellence, setting strategy, governance, and performance expectations across key risk domains including immigration, background checks, workers’ compensation, and records retention.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to HR and business leadership, providing risk insights and enabling informed, risk-based decision-making.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in HR, compliance, risk management, or governance roles, preferably within large or global organizations.
- Strong experience leading enterprise-level risk and compliance programs with oversight responsibilities across multiple regions or functions.
- Deep understanding of HR operations, policy frameworks, and regulatory compliance environments.
- Proven ability to design governance structures, control frameworks, and scalable compliance programs.
- Strong leadership experience, including managing teams and leading cross-functional or global initiatives.
- Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior executives.
- Strong program management and organizational skills with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
