About This Position
MTC is seeking a highly motivated Special Events & Fundraising Manager to support organizational fundraising, signature events, donor engagement, and volunteer coordination. This role is ideal for a creative, detail driven planner and strong communicator with experience in event management, donor relations, community outreach, and project coordination. The Special Events & Fundraising Manager works closely with the Sr. Director of Development and plays a key role in bringing MTC’s mission of full inclusion to life through meaningful experiences and strategic fundraising efforts.
Event Planning & Fundraising Support:
- Lead planning, logistics, and execution of MTC’s signature fundraising events and community engagement activities.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, vendors, volunteer roles, and event day operations.
- Support donor stewardship and fundraising activities connected to events, including sponsorship outreach, follow up, and acknowledgment.
- Coordinate event materials such as invitations, programs, signage, and scripts.
Development Coordination:
- Assist with implementing MTC’s Development Plan in alignment with organizational goals.
- Support fundraising reports, donor engagement tracking, and event metrics.
- Maintain accurate data for special events, outreach efforts, donor engagement, and volunteer activities.
- Assist with content and data collection for the Annual Report and donor communications.
Engagement, Tours & Community Outreach:
- Schedule and coordinate tours for donors, leadership groups, community partners, and professionals.
- Participate in outreach activities and represent MTC at community events.
- Help cultivate relationships and identify new supporters, partners, and volunteers.
Volunteer Coordination (Event & Program Support):
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, and coordinate volunteers for events, tours, and special projects.
- Maintain volunteer documentation and ensure compliance with all background screenings and required trainings.
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteer engagement and support (no staff supervision required).
Other:
- Serve as a professional, mission aligned representative of MTC in all community and donor-facing activities.
- Focuses on a people-first approach across the organization.
- Diagnoses problems quickly, foresees potential issues, and delivers resolution.
- Maintain an environment of respect and kindness where all employees can do their best work.
- Maintain a collaborative work environment and work well with others.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 3 years' experience in event planning, fundraising, donor relations, or volunteer coordination.
- Strong writing abilities and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking required.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple planning timelines required.
- Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite required; familiarity with donor databases preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is helpful.
- Must be adaptable, collaborative, creative, and mission driven.
- Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work to accomplish the outcomes of the job and represent MTC at special events.
- Must pass a Level II background check/fingerprinting (https://info.flclearinghouse.com), drug screening, and FDOT/MVR check.
