About This Position
IES Safety, LLC – SEMC (Strategic Emergency Management Contract) Division is seeking a full-time Manager to join our professional team. The Division Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic oversight, and operational performance of the SEMC division. This role ensures full contract compliance; oversees inspection procedures, reporting, and documentation; maintains emergency response readiness; and manages personnel, client relationships, and financial performance.
The Division Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for all SEMC deliverables and acts as the organization’s principal representative to SEMC member clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Field Supervision
- Manage and supervise Firefighters performing inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of emergency response equipment and fire protection systems.
- Maintain a comprehensive service and maintenance schedule and ensure all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
Emergency Response Leadership
- Lead and direct response operations for fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous materials incidents during client emergencies until relieved by a Division Chief or other qualified officer.
- Ensure safe, effective, and coordinated emergency operations in accordance with established procedures and client requirements.
Training & Readiness
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver training for SEMC personnel in emergency response, inspections, and operational procedures.
- Ensure personnel certifications, qualifications, and competencies remain current and compliant with regulatory and contract standards.
- Maintain equipment readiness, apparatus condition, and bay cleanliness to ensure a constant state of operational preparedness.
Training & Readiness
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver training for SEMC personnel in emergency response, inspections, and operational procedures.
- Ensure personnel certifications, qualifications, and competencies remain current and compliant with regulatory and contract standards.
- Maintain equipment readiness, apparatus condition, and bay cleanliness to ensure a constant state of operational preparedness.
Personnel Administration
- Perform personnel administration functions including scheduling, timekeeping oversight, performance management, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and mentoring of SEMC personnel to maintain staffing and skill requirements.
Customer Interface & Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client representatives regarding emergency response services, inspections, and operational support.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication, responsiveness, and consistent service delivery.
- Address client concerns and coordinate corrective actions when needed to ensure customer satisfaction and contract compliance.

Work Environment & Expectations

Employment Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older – insurability requirements
- TWIC – required to enter most customer facilities (may be applied for and issued during the onboarding process)
- Homeland Security Background Check
- Valid driver’s license / MVR
- Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing / Post-Employment Random Drug & Alcohol Testing
- Pre-Employment DOT Physical / Post-employment DOT Physical (frequency determined by expiration of medical certificate)
