JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Care Technician will provide support to the ASC staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care is provided at all times. Duties will include assisting pre and post op nursing teams in basic patient care and in prepping the facility to ensure safe and clean at all times.

The Patient Care Technician will provide support to the ASC staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care is provided at all times. Duties will include assisting pre and post op nursing teams in basic patient care and in prepping the facility to ensure safe and clean at all times.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Transport patients safely through facility
- Assist with turning over operating rooms between cases occasionally
- Assist in monitoring and recording in environmental and equipment log. Answer phones and data entry.
- Uses equipment in safe and effective manner; reporting repairs to appropriate person.
- Competent and responsible in prevention of contamination and transfer of infection.
- Assist RNs in pre-op and PACU. Some duties may include helping patients get dressed, removing IVs, checking blood sugars, making patient follow up phone calls, taking patients to their vehicles, cleaning stretchers, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and EHR software
- Excellent Customer Service skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of patient care best practices, healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance standards
- Proficient skills as required by appropriate certification
- Ability to multi-task and provide high-quality results
- Ability to speak English effectively with patients, caregivers, and staff; additional languages preferred
- Ability to practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Our corporate office is located in Tampa, FL. The job will be Monday thru Friday with occasional Saturdays. Work hours vary depending on the surgery schedule. Noise or Vibrations: Copy machine, phones, computer and printer, other office equipment.
