About This Position
The Facilities & Manufacturing Technician role supports both plant facility operations and Manufacturing Engineering initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production of control panels and wire harness assemblies. This role performs equipment maintenance, assists with process improvements, helps coordinate vendor services, supports new product introductions, and maintains facility infrastructure to minimize downtime and enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Maintenance and Infrastructure
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, lighting and building infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment to minimize production interruptions.
• Support installation, relocation, and modification of manufacturing equipment and workstations.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility maintenance and repair work that must be done professionally, to code, or requires a permit.
• Maintain facility maintenance records, inspections, and compliance documentation. This includes vendor authorizations on electrical, arc flash, and lockout tagout related trainings.
• Support workplace safety initiatives, including lockout tagout, environmental compliance, and general OSHA safety standards.
• Assist with facility improvement projects, layout changes, and space optimization.
Manufacturing Engineering Support
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with development, implementation, and continuous improvement of production processes for control panels and wire harness assemblies.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities including equipment setup, tooling validation, and process documentation.
• Build, maintain and improve fixtures, tooling and test equipment used in assembly operations.
• Troubleshoot production equipment, tooling, and process issues to reduce downtime and improve product quality.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to manufacturing deficits, inefficiencies, or audits.
• Assist in developing work instructions, process documentation or training materials when assigned.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and workflow optimization.
• Help validate process changes and assist in time studies and capacity planning as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education | Experience
• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience required in lieu of formal degree or certification.
• 2-3 year experience in manufacturing maintenance, manufacturing engineering support, or industrial maintenance environment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and manufacturing equipment troubleshooting required.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Abilities | Skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and time management.
• Sound understanding of test equipment used for electrical facilities.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and occasionally climb ladders or work in confined spaces.
• Hybrid role supporting office, production and warehouse operations.
• Exposure to typical manufacturing environment conditions including noise, moving equipment, and electrical systems
- Competitive Hourly Pay :$24.00-$27.00 DOE
