Job Description: Operations Finance Controller
Job Status: Salary Work Schedule: Mon-Fri
Reports to: VP of Finance FLSA Status: Exempt
Positions Supervised: Asst. Corp Controller Travel Required: 10%

Job Summary:
The Operations Finance Controller oversees the financial operations of Hoover’s network of ten manufacturing plants. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and the ability to manage multiple sites. While a key leader in the finance organization, he or she will be a partner to Hoover’s Vice President of Operations and a principal contributor to the company’s S&OP process. The successful candidate will ensure financial integrity, drive financial performance, and support the business's strategic goals.

Essential Functions/Duties:
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all manufacturing plants.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for all plants.
  • Lead annual standard setting process for all plants.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and long-term planning.
  • Provide variance analysis and identify areas of improvement.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates, ensuring optimal inventory management.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency.
  • Apply cost accounting principles to evaluate production costs and profitability.
  • Partner with plant managers, VP Operations, and operations teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Participate in strategic planning and capital investment projects.
  • Conduct financial analysis for new business opportunities and expansions
  • Lead and mentor a team of regional operations controllers.
  • Ensure team readiness for NetSuite transition.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the finance team.
  • Ensure professional development and training for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and external regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong account reconciliation processes where processes change with the NetSuite launch.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audits.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes.
  • Implement best practices in financial management across all plants.
  • Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and optimize financial systems, including NetSuite, to ensure accurate and efficient financial data management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing financial operations across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through complex change.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
