About the Role

This position focuses on frontline implementation, observation, documentation, and coaching—ensuring health and safety programs are consistently applied in fast-paced, real-world environments, including environmental remediation and compliance-driven work.

Operating across the Energy Services territory in the Northwest and Southwest U.S., this supports projects involving site remediation, response activities, and industrial services where environmental controls, permits, and client-driven requirements are part of daily operations. The role requires practical awareness of how safety and environmental expectations intersect in the field, including task planning, site controls, and documentation.

Serving as a visible on-site resource, the Regional H&S Specialist reinforces safe behaviors, supports Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), conducts field audits and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observations, and helps maintain accurate, audit-ready paperwork. While this role does not develop policy or act as a regulatory authority, it supports compliance by promoting alignment with company programs, client expectations, and applicable EPA and state environmental agency requirements as they relate to field activities.

  • Conduct routine field audits, site inspections, and safety observations across active energy services and remediation job sites
  • Verify compliance with company H&S programs, client requirements, and site-specific environmental controls
  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors in both safety and environmentally sensitive work areas
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations through field observations, documentation, and follow-up

  • Assist crews and supervisors with the development and execution of JSAs that reflect both safety and environmental considerations
  • Confirm pre-task planning, tailgate meetings, and permit or control requirements are addressed prior to work execution

Behavior-Based Safety (BBS)

  • Perform BBS observations focused on coaching, engagement, and positive reinforcement
  • Document trends and recurring behaviors to support continuous improvement initiatives

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Complete and submit field safety and compliance documentation, including audit reports, corrective actions, and follow-ups
  • Help maintain organized, accurate paperwork to support client audits and compliance reviews
  • Support alignment with client-driven compliance expectations common in energy and environmental services work, without acting as the primary compliance administrator

Field Coaching & Communication

  • Provide informal field-level coaching on safety and environmental best practices
  • Assist with toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site orientations as directed
  • Serve as a field point of contact for basic health, safety, and environmental questions

Travel & Regional Coverage

  • Travel extensively throughout the Northwest and Southwest U.S. Energy Services territory
  • Work in diverse environments including remediation sites, industrial facilities, remote locations, and active construction or response settings

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or safety-related education preferred
  • 2–5 years of field-based health and safety experience in energy, construction, industrial, environmental, or related services
  • Working knowledge of JSAs, field audits, and behavior-based safety practices
