About This Position
Polamer Precision is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk / Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time while maintaining strong internal controls and organized financial records.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with data, and able to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify 50+ vendor invoices per week, ensuring proper approvals, pricing accuracy, and general ledger coding
- Prepare and process vendor payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions
- Maintain organized vendor payment files and supporting documentation in accordance with company procedures
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or open items with vendors and internal departments
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with Purchasing and other departments
- Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting
- Generate reports and provide documentation for management, auditors, and other departments as needed
- Support special projects and provide backup support to other accounting or office staff when needed
- 1–2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience working in an ERP or accounting system preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
- Ability to follow structured processes while meeting deadlines
- Professional communication with vendors and internal departments
- Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and accounting systems
