About This Position
Applies preparatory materials, paints, and stains to surfaces of walls, ceilings, equipment, and furniture. Performs minor maintenance repairs in/on buildings and assists with moving furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
• Washes, scrapes, sands, and/or smooth’s interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
• Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products.
• Performs minor maintenance repairs in/on buildings.
• Assists with moving furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
• Reports mistakes, near misses and adverse events and quality and safety concerns.
• Participates in the development and implementation of safety and quality improvement activities.
• Protects patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High school student with Building/Trades classes completed.
Licensure/Certifications: Valid Indiana Driver’s license required.
Experience: Prior experience painting interior and exterior surfaces, preferred. Ability to interact well with employees at all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements: Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to palpate; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
