About This Position

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Classification: Non-exempt, part-time, temporary

Pay Rate: $30 - $40/hour

Reports to: Controller  

Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) is looking to hire a bookkeeper to support AP, AR, budgeting, and general accounting for one of NYC’s most iconic public spaces. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, proactive, and experienced in nonprofit bookkeeping or accounting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process and code invoices, purchase orders, vendor bills, and support AP workflows.

  • Maintain vendor records, W-9s, reconcile AP/AR aging reports, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices; record and apply cash receipts.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, and month end close tasks.

  • Track expenses against budgets and assist with cost allocation and reporting.

  • Review financial records, payroll reports, and documentation for accuracy.

  • Maintain organized digital files to support audits and internal controls.

  • Support new systems and software implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Assistant, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of AP/AR, reconciliations, and budget tracking.

  • Highly organized, detail driven, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.

  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Premiere, Sage Intacct, BILL, Excel).

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
