This role offers the opportunity to lead and optimize the performance of external collections partners while ensuring operational excellence and a superior borrower experience. You will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors, monitoring performance metrics, resolving issues, and implementing improvement initiatives. Working closely with internal teams and vendor leadership, you will help align collections operations with strategic business goals. Accountabilities:
  • Managing and monitoring external vendor performance to meet or exceed KPIs, SLAs, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align vendor efforts with strategic objectives and measurable business outcomes.
  • Ensuring vendors deliver a seamless, professional, and compliant borrower experience.
  • Tracking performance using dashboards, operational metrics, and reporting tools to identify trends and actionable improvements.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendor leadership to foster partnership, accountability, and effective communication.
  • Leading performance improvement initiatives, including audits, onsite visits, and operational assessments.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, Risk, and Lending teams to ensure vendor compliance and operational alignment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings experience in collections operations, vendor management, and data-driven decision-making. Required qualifications include:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in collections, servicing, or vendor management, including experience with third-party BPOs or first-party operations in financial services, consumer lending, or auto finance.
  • Proven track record managing vendor performance against KPIs, SLAs, and quality standards.
  • Experience conducting vendor onsite visits, operational audits, or compliance reviews.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret operational metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear expectations and feedback to vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for vendor visits as required.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience supporting the launch or expansion of collections operations, including onboarding vendors or establishing governance and early-stage performance stabilization.
  • Previous international travel experience for vendor or BPO operational support and assessments.
