Position Summary
We’re looking for a Finance Director to lead our accounting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and risk management functions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, safeguarding company assets, strengthening controls, and partnering with executive leadership to drive smart business decisions.
You’ll oversee general accounting, cost accounting, AP, AR, payroll, treasury, compliance, and ERP systems—while building a high-performing team and supporting long-term business growth. What You'll Do
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
● Lead all accounting operations including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting
● Own and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
● Produce accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
● Ensure proper inventory valuation, manufacturing cost accounting, and variance reporting
● Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and internal financial controls
● Lead financial reporting efforts to ensure transparency and data integrity
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
● Assist in budget development and oversee cash flow management, expense control, and debt obligations
● Develop and maintain financial models and forecasting tools
● Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend strategic improvements
● Support executive decision-making with data-driven insights and business intelligence
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
● Develop, implement, and enforce internal control policies and procedures
● Lead internal and external audits; coordinate audit requests and documentation
● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including IRS reporting
● Oversee adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements
● Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
● Lead cross-functional risk management initiatives
● Manage insurance renewals, claims, and risk assessments
● Monitor customer credit risk and vendor financial exposure
Contracts, Banking & Treasury
● Review financial components of customer and vendor contracts
● Ensure compliance with pricing terms, rebate programs, SLAs, and cost commitments
● Partner with legal to evaluate financial risk in new agreements
● Manage banking relationships and treasury functions
● Support financing needs and capital planning
Leadership & Process Improvement
● Hire, train, and develop departmental managers
● Oversee daily workflow, departmental performance, and scheduling
● Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
● Lead and develop accounting and cost accounting teams
● Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function
● Oversee ERP accounting modules and support automation and system optimization
● Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies aligned with business goals
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
● Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
● Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency with Excel.
● Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and guide executive decision-making.
● Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and risk assessment.
● Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
● Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
● Adaptability to a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demanding standards for quality and productivity.
● Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and financial reporting.
● Experience with ERP implementation and optimization
● Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the manufacturing industry.
● Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and business intelligence tools.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.
Preferred Qualifications
● CPA, CFA, or other relevant certification.
Travel Requirements
● This position requires travel to Everett and Lancaster for team meetings and strategic sessions. May be as much as 10% - 15% per year.
