Fields Operations Manager at JANSON – Fairfax, Virginia

The Field Operations Manager will serve as a key member of JANSON’s construction and federal programs/coordinate field execution across multiple construction projects. Responsible for overseeing multiple project superintendents and field teams across concurrent construction projects. This leader will serve as a key point of contact between field operations, project management teams, and clients.

The ideal candidate is all contractor personnel shall possess an active Secret security clearance or be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Personnel without an active clearance may perform unclassified preparatory work while clearance processing is underway..

• Oversee multiple project superintendents and field teams across concurrent construction projects.
• Direct day-to-day field operations to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate field activities including scheduling, logistics, workforce management, and subcontractor oversight.
• Monitor project performance and proactively identify production inefficiencies, implementing real-time solutions to maintain productivity.
• Lead field operations for complex construction projects including federal facilities, institutional buildings, commercial developments, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Maintain strict compliance with federal construction standards and safety protocols when applicable.
• Mentor and support project superintendents and field staff, promoting professional development and operational consistency across projects.
• Foster a collaborative field culture focused on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and operational support to ensure field teams have the resources needed to perform effectively.
• Serve as a key point of contact between field operations, project management teams, and clients.
• Work closely with Owners, subcontractors, and internal leadership to maintain transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and dependable project execution.
• Champion JANSON’s commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence across all projects.
• Ensure field teams follow established safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Track project benchmarks and implement strategies to meet or exceed schedule, quality, and performance targets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction field leadership experience, including superintendent or general superintendent roles.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects and field teams.
• Background in federal, municipal, commercial, or institutional construction strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects and coordinate multiple subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and field operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of delivering projects that meet or exceed schedule, quality, and performance expectations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with federal or high-security facilities.
• Experience on large-scale institutional or commercial projects such as stadiums, high-rise buildings, or complex infrastructure.
• Ability to mentor and develop field leadership teams.
