About This Position

Description:

Shipping Clerk

Supports and aids the Shipping Lead and Shipping Manager in the shipment of products from warehouse to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform shipping duties that include picking and packing of orders in the warehouse.
  • Support the shipment of finished goods produced for sale to our customers. Aid in production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials at your workstation.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Must have excellent communication, strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail with the ability to work within a team environment.

Physical Demands:

Required to lift up to 75+ lbs.

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.

Work Environment:

Work performed in a combination of shop and office environments.

Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory related experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret picking tickets, maneuver through menus on scanner and enter accurate information, warehouse configurations and item labeling.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy and awkward items from pick bin racking and place onto a pallet with without damaging the product or other product on the pallet.
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
  • Must be familiar with chop saw. Understanding how to use in a safe & effective manner.
  • Must be familiar with a tape measure and how to interpret.
  • Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment; pallet jack, banding equipment, scanners, manual stretch wrap, and hand tools (i.e.-Sawzall, hammer)
  • Willing to be certified on a forklift truck.
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable. Experience with Netsuite/Pacejet software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, assembly instructions and correspondence. Ability to solve basic math.

Pay: $18/hour
