About This Position
We have an opportunity to join our team as Director of Sales. The Director of Sales is responsible to assist in the development and implementation of the company’s Sales and Marketing strategy, the development of relationships to maximize room sales and profits in a competitive market.
Responsibilities:
• Become knowledgeable in the hotel’s Property Management System.
• Ensure that clients’ needs and requests are completed in a timely manner.
• Responsible for completion of yearly marketing plan.
• Log all clients’ requests and confirm their completion.
• Ensure to follow through on all issues and discrepancies as pertaining to Sales.
• Make and confirm reservations following our Signature “Magic Formula”.
• Verify daily rate & availability.
• Attend weekly Revenue Management calls, daily monitor rates/restrictions and discuss strategy with GM, and Sales Associates to ensure continuity.
• Handle all administrative tasks as directed by the General Manager.
• Contact organizations, travel agencies, associations & commercial companies in order to establish contacts.
• Ensure all agreements made with groups are completed satisfactorily by acting as liaison with other departments as necessary.
• Greet contacts in-house upon arrival and assure meeting rooms are set to contact’s satisfaction.
• Monitor and update group room blocks and ensure that deposit and cut off policies are being adhered to.
• Responsible for social media content, posting and updating.
• Complete weekly sales templates and trace detail reports.
• Respond to RFP’s within 4 business hours.
• Coordinate arrangements for special events.
• Establish and maintain Sales files.
• Assist in completion of monthly newsletter.
• Coordinate the ordering of office supplies and marketing collateral.
• Handle meeting room inquiries and attempt to convert all feasible meetings to bookings at the highest possible rates.
• Prepare function sheets and distribute them accordingly.
• Coordinate arrangements for outside services prior to events.
• Coordinate arrangements internally with other departments as applicable.
• Ensure files are kept up to date and are maintained as per SOP.
• Assist with the departmental budget and overall sales objectives.
• Ensure that all sales related policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage the training and coaching of SOP for Sales Coordinators/Administrators.

• Special projects as assigned.
• Handle regular phone calls, along with “cold calling” prospective clients.
• Send contracts to accepted leads.
• Follow up on all sales meetings.
• Ensure proper corporate and group coding.
• Maintain contracts for all booked groups and events.
• Conduct Site Tours of the property for prospective clients.
• Respond to all Sales Leads within 24 hours.
• Create proposals and then negotiate and send out contracts on accepted leads.
• Maintain relationships with current clients whether through phone calls, e-mails, or physically visiting them.
• Stay abreast of all local activities through various means; newspapers, newsletters etc.
• Attend networking events, expeditions, and trade shows on behalf of the hotel.
• Attend mandatory meetings & hotel functions.
• Report any and all wear and tear of furniture and/or equipment, as well as and safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager
• Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook.
• Other duties as requested by management.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Four-year College degree, or;
• Equivalent education/training and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Three Years within the hotel sales discipline.
SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities.
• Make decisions within the standards of the position which can impact more than one department, but usually not more than one hotel.
• Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently present, negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.

• Must be detail-oriented, customer-focused and able to multi-task.
