JOB DESCRIPTION:

VAE is seeking a motivated and results-driven Inside Sales Executive to support and grow our Federal IT sales portfolio. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, developing new opportunities, and driving revenue growth within the federal government space. The ideal candidate has experience selling through government-wide acquisition contracts (GWACs) and a strong understanding of federal procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts to ensure retention and continuous sales growth
  • Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities within the Federal IT market
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline for reporting to management
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and certification goals
  • Work directly with manufacturers and distributors to develop customer solutions and competitive pricing
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and align solutions accordingly
  • Stay informed on Federal IT market trends, contract vehicles, and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support proposal development and customer engagement


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior inside sales experience supporting Federal IT contracts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Government procurement processes, terminology, and requirements
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts including computers, networking, and cybersecurity
  • Experience working with OEMs and distributors on pricing and solution development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (percentages, margins, etc.)
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Relevant Federal IT sales and/or technical certifications preferred (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, VMware, Citrix)


CLEARANCE LEVEL: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

CERTIFICATIONS: Relevant Federal IT sales and/or technical certifications preferred
